BRAT RACE #7 – $2,750 ADDED

BRAT’s annual Christmas Classic race is right around the corner!  It will be held December 1-2 at SVCC in Alvarado. Saturday, September 2nd will be BRATs 7th race of the season. We will be awarding top 3 prizes in each D in the Youth and Open including BOB BERG buckles to 1st in each division.  There is a $1,000.00 added to the Open 5D!  PBRIP peeps – there will be $500.00 added to the PBRIP sidepot as well!

Along with this race, BRAT will be hosting a $500.00 added 2-D Juvenile Futurity (progressive payout), a $500.00 added 2D Futurity (progressive payout) and a $250.00 added Derby (straight race) on Saturday.  THANK YOU TO BRAZOS VALLEY EQUINE HOSPITAL for sponsoring our Juvenile and Futurity races and making it happen!  The fees for each of these classes is $50.00 and entrants WILL have the option to carry over to the Open 5D.

Friday, December 1st we will be at the arena and exhibitions will be available from 11:00-6:30!  Lots of spots for exhibitions!  Friday night at 7:00 pm there will be a $500.00 added Open 5D as well. Friday night is a non-point show.

The mailed in entries need to be postmarked by Friday, November 24th. The early online entries will close on Monday, November 27th at 6:00 pm. If you want to be in the early pre-entry draw please utilize this feature.

Please note the schedule as it’s different from our other races.

11:00 AM – Books open and exhibitions will start
7:00 PM – $500 added Open 5D

8:00 AM – Books Open / Check in of Futurity horses. (Bring a copy of your horses’ papers.  If horse is grade a written document from a vet stating age of horse will work).
8:00 AM – Exhibitions – these will be sold on site – no pre-entries
10:00 AM – $500 added BVEH 2D Juvenile Futurity
$500 added BVEH 2D Futurity
$250 added Derby

If time allows we will offer more exhibitions.  Exhibitions will be ran until 1:30 PM and sold on site.
1:30 PM – Devotional
2:00 PM – $1,000.00 ADDED OPEN 5D & YOUTH 4 D (Adult, Senior and $500 added PBRIP incentives optional)

Youth and Open will be ran together as one class. Youth will still be able to designate “youth only” or “youth with open carryover”. Youth can no longer make two runs; one run only. The Youth side pot will be paid out as a 4D with 1/2, 1/2, WHOLE second splits. Must be 15 years or younger as of May 1, 2017, to be eligible for Youth class.

Incentive classes –  $25.00 (Adult 16-49; Senior 50+, PBRIP)

Arena $5.00 (one-time fee/waived if nominated for awards)

Arena Fee is WAIVED if you nominate for awards on Saturday! Youth & Open: Optional $10 Nomination fee for prizes for first horse and $5 for each additional horse

  • Youth age is 15 & Under as of 05/01/17….. Be aware of your age when entering the race.  If you were 15 years old on May 1st, 2017 you are eligible for the youth the 2017-2018 season.
  • Put your horses name – (Horse #1 and Horse #2 is not acceptable).       A $10.00 change fee will apply if we run across this.
  • PH – if you are a member and running multiple horses you need to choose which is your PH (point horse) for the day.  You may choose a different one at the next race but only one is allowed per race.
  •  No entries without payment is allowed.  This includes reserving numbers, entering friends without payment or exhibitions.
  • Once the draw is posted there is a $10.00 fee for changes. Changes need to be made via email at, (please don’t use text or facebook for this notification)       Unless you receive an email confirmation your changes are not made
  • Draw out releases must be received by Thursday 7pm. Please send email to (please don’t use text or facebook for this notification) Unless you receive an email confirmation you are NOT drawn out and will not receive a refund.
